Local energy concept as a key tool for achieving savings

In 2024, the energy division of Gatum Group prepared seven local energy concepts across the Czech Republic. This added to our portfolio of 17 completed concepts, with more in progress. We help our clients reduce energy costs, lower emissions, and increase the energy independence of local governments.

A local energy concept serves as a key starting document for the long-term and sustainable development of municipalities, cities, and local action groups in the field of energy. The output includes a strategic framework, a site-specific analysis, a detailed overview of energy infrastructure, and the organizational structure of towns or municipalities. Through thorough analysis and evaluation of provided data, the current economic status is mapped, enabling the creation of a set of effective cost-saving measures consolidated in the proposal section of the concept. In alignment with strategic goals, this document—together with the energy action plan—establishes a cohesive and comprehensive approach to improving energy efficiency.

An essential component is the economic assessment of individual measures to support their prioritization and evaluation. The document also identifies the most suitable financing tools and grant programs tailored to the needs of local governments, allowing them to reduce budget demands through project co-financing from external sources.

As part of the output, we provide clients with detailed property cards consolidating all information from field surveys, including photo documentation. To date, we have proposed over 200 cost-saving measures with a total investment volume exceeding CZK 150 million. If all proposed measures were implemented, cost savings could reach nearly CZK 10 million. Our services ensure comprehensive support at every stage of energy planning—from initial analyses and proposal development to implementation and ongoing monitoring of results.
